What do you see when you look at the clouds?  Do you imagine you are seeing an animal?  A mystical creature? I love looking at the clouds and they change form so quickly.  In the above picture, what do you see?  My mom said the other day when her and my Dad got in the car, Dad said oh there are lots of islands in the clouds today.  He saw islands, my mom saw an animal.

More Skies, July 23, 2023


Last week I wrote about hooking skies and how difficult I find them to hook. Charlene inspired me to ‘try again’. I ‘plein air’ hooked the other day, trying to capture the magnificent clouds. Do you know they can move and change very quickly? I don’t have a photo to share as I don’t have enough hooked as of yet. Maybe next blog.

I did mini punch these two lovely little coasters and backed them with felt. They were my practice coasters as I plan to make more.

We can clearly see the sky above us each day.  Do we take much notice of it?  I love a bright blue sky with puffy white clouds.  They get my attention every time.  A beautiful sunset or sunrise, can get a feeling from me as well.  We want our rugs to be an expression of our artist abilities but we want people to 'feel' something when they look at it. Summer Time, July 09, 2023

I love the few months of lovely weather we get here in the Maritimes even though we have had a 'lot' of rain in recent weeks.  One positive of lots of rain is everything is so lush green. The above photo was taken by my daughter on our excursion to Cape Breton last week. Canada and Independence Day
