Linda Alderdice came to Northport last week to register hand hooked rugs for the Heritage Rug Registry of Nova Scotia that were hooked over 25 years ago.  A total of 21 hooked pieces over 25 years old, made in Nova Scotia were archived with the Heritage Rug Registry. Every time we gather with rug hookers, it feels like a celebration.  We support each other, listen to each other (most times), laugh together, create together and generally just have a good time.  We often say, we are so blessed to be having such a great time in this wonderful craft called Rug Hooking.

Remember those who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom. So many lives lost. The men & women, no more than children who have gone to war.  I heard a story on the radio the other day of a young man, looking forward to the adventure of seeing a part of the world he would have never imagined visiting in the early 1940's. He was married with one child, he never returned home. He is remembered.  The men & women who returned home scared mentally and physically, we remember...

You have heard me say many times, being around like minded people lifts one’s spirits. Inspires you creatively.  My friend Diane and I travelled to Bangor, Maine this weekend to attend the annual Downeast Hook-In. We stayed with her friend Gaby, what a delight she is (center above).

A few mats of Gaby’s, I snagged a couple of photos. The first is a Seasport pattern the second a hit & miss of sorts using torn strips of wool fabric. Both gorgeous!

What a week! Fall is rolling along as well as the week. It started with the Friday Friends Hook-In, it was a wonderful time and the Roadies have a few more Jean jackets completed, see below, so much fun! Participants to the hook-in could dress up for the occasion and a few people complied and they were all so cute!
