Keep on Keeping On, August 28, 2022


End of August, how is that possible? Usually the end of August is the sign of the end of the summer. It is so sad for many. I have been on the internet since the late 80’s and back then one would create a nickname to be used online. A friend of mine would refer to my ‘chatty’ nature as an Australian Kookaburra. The above picture I snagged off of Facebook as it made me smile. Only time I’ve got to see a live Kookaburra was at the Moncton zoo.

Rainy Days, August 14, 2022

We got a bit of rain last week and more coming this week.  I think we are in need of it.  The above picture I tried to capture the rain bouncing off our drive way as it was raining so hard this morning.

I was busy last week with grandchildren but I managed to escape for a one day macrame course during the Sisterhood Woolstock East being held in Tatamagouche, NS.  It was great fun and I want to make more! I also picked up a kit to make a knitted...


Harvest Time, August 07, 2022

It is that time of year here in the Maritimes, we can enjoy the fruits of our labour from the gardens, from apple trees, blueberries, etc.  My mom has the high bush blueberries, they are a little plumper than the wild blueberries and I don't like the taste as much as the wild blueberries.  My dad has wild blueberry fields behind our place that he started harvesting today.  Hot work at the best of times let alone during another heat wave we are experiencing.  I have my granddaughter and...


Summer Heat, July 31, 2022

The great summer continues which means trips to the beach as we are so fortunate to live near the ocean.  The above picture is of my grandson Denver, our recent visit to the beach.  We will blink and summer will be over.  Enjoy every warm day as it comes.

Summer Heat, July 24, 2022

The above picture says it all.  I hope you are able to stay cool during this very warm weather we have been experiencing.

Most of us, me included, have a few projects on the go, but we seem to still start new ones.  I started this Jane Steele, Poppy pattern this weekend.  I wanted to use a wide cut and the widest cutter I have is #8 and I was planning on shading the pedals.  I soon figured out the #8 cut wasn't going to do for shading as each pedal...
